Harvesting pods..

I bought Poseidon Phyto and pods kits and so far, so good.

But I want to simplify things.. tonight I just carried the jar to my display tank and pulled the Pod Nest out and let it sit in the display tank for a minute or 2. Pods were streaming out, then I just put the Pod nest back in the jar and turned everything back on. Do you think this will work out okay? I figure once every month or 2 I would do a quick siphon off the bottom of the jar (bag) and keep it going. Then when the bottom of the bag gets super nasty- I will sieve it into a new bag of fresh water. Does this sound sustainable?

The original pods were "Galaxy pods" from AB.
