Looks like my mushroom coral literally just popped a new one out instead of him moving and his previous root becoming a mushroom. Any reason why he’d choose to make one this way?
My guess is that the mushroom did in fact reproduce through pedal laceration, and it's just the corals respective positions that makes it appear otherwise.
