Have you ever tried to cultivate a pest for any reason?

So I know a few people who intentionally cultivate aiptasia. I was wondering if other pests ever get cultivated by hobbyists whether for research or farming (berghia farms require aiptasia farms) or just for being weird... I dunno. Thought this could be an interesting conversation.

I’ve farmed Aipatasia before and learned a tone on they’re needs, feeding requirements and propagation methods, I am now attempting to culture Cyanobacteria and dinoflagellates.

Asterina starfish for a Harlequin Shrimp and I tried unsuccessfully to raise Aiptasia eating nudi, I could get the Aiptasia to plague proportions but the nudi seem to either get sucked up by pumps/overflow/fish/airstone/tooth fairy…. Yeah no luck with them but had huge healthy harlequins with the Asterina. Lol
