Opposed to SB 931

Friday 2-8-19 1:20 PM room 229

My name is _______ If you shut down the aquarium fishery in Hawaii it will hurt me my business and family for no reason. Explain why you oppose the bill.

There is no science or facts that support the need to pass SB 931. The underlying proposition of SB 931 is based in falsehood. The opinion that the fishery should shut down due to Hawaiian cultural concerns does not hold water. Fish has long been a Hawaiian way of life. Sustainability and science melds with Hawaiian beliefs, morality and righteousness. Moreover the legal articles cited do not have full merit regarding the rights of user groups and public lands. Just the opposite is true. It is unconstitutional to shut down any fishery, or restrict user groups, especially when science supports the facts that the aquarium fishery is sustainable.

The attached video made by researchers attests to the fact that the aquarium fishery is sustainable:

About how much comes in through Hawaii? By looks of the votes, seems like none of the senators voted against this bill

I’m confused. I thought Hawaii was shut down last year?
