Introduction:

Me and my son (Hawke) entered into the Pico Methodology Contest on Nano-Reef.com. Wondering through home decor stores trying to find a suitable tank we saw a kewl table top lamp which gave us the inspiration.

System Objectives: Attempt to build a completely unique Pico tank. Need it to be a stable low/easy maintenance system.

System Type: Trying for a Mixed Reef with a theme.

Display System:

Strike up Date: Within a few weeks.

Display Tank: 7 x 7 x 7 (in inches) w/ display area being 7 x 4.5 x 7 (3.61 L)

Display Lighting: Low power LED's configured similar to a KR91

Stand/Hood: Table top lamp with built in Pico tank.

Sump: False wall to hide equipment. 7 x 2.5 x 7 (2.01 L)

Refugium: N/A

Refugium Lighting: N/A


Support systems:

System Water: Initially Oceanic Sea Salt Mix.

Display Water circulation: AquaClear 20 HOB -- 50 mL of Purigen in media basket.

Return Pump: N/A

Skimmer: N/A

Evaporation Top Up: Initially JBJ ATO with aqualifter pump.


Chemical Support:

Calcium Addition: Initially regular and constant water changes.

Alkilinity Addition: see above

Other Chemical Maintenance: N/A

Current Water Chemistry: Not Yet

sooo cool. nothing like father son aquariuming, that's what got me into all of this to begin with
