My LFS has a white acro with pink tips that he calls "Expendables". It looks beautiful and healthy, other than being white, and is expensive. Has anyone heard of such an acro? Any care tips? I'm a little obsessed with it, but want to know more before I put down the money. TIA!

I should have taken a pic, but didn't. I may not be able to get there for a few days. If I decide to buy it I'll call him. I think he'll hold it for me.

Hey TR,

Hope all is well!

In my experience, the SPS corals that usually have the "white" appearance are Bali Mariculture pieces. When placed into a home aquarium, the pieces often lose the white appearance and develop more of a natural coloration. Back in 2006, you could find colonies of these corals for $35-$45. All had the appealing white coloration. I had one piece (long gone now) that had a white base, that developed into red, and finally a blue tip. Good job on asking before purchasing. If you can provide a pic (before its snatched up) I'll be able to tell you.

Warmest Regards,
James

Just texted the LFS, it's gone. Thanks for the help! On to my next obsession... Testing my new Jebao dosing pump!

Here is a pic of one that I had with very little light. It was growing good but stayed white. Once I added leds it changed.
