Hi All! New to this forum and to reefing! After starting a saltwater tank a year ago i finally got the courage to start adding corals. I placed two zoa frags and one toadstool after doing research on beginner corals. Everyone is doing well but since placing this zoa frag in the tank it is only half it’s normal color. They orange rings were how all polyps looked when I bought it but I noticed some have just stay this neon green and aren’t displaying the same color. Is this a symptom of something or is this normal zoa behavior?

For reference, it’s not under high flow and is in the lower 1/3rd of the tank. All water parameters are normal. All have been in the tank for a few weeks.

Thanks!

Hard to tell from the immense blue color ruining the picture of the zoas. My best guesses are Radioactive Dragon Eyes and Eagle Eyes. Two common zoas that are also usually grown together.

Interesting, thanks for the feed back! I guess I just found it strange that they were all orange when I picked them up from the reef store. But if you think it’s two different species, I’m fine with that as long as they’re healthy! Also, I just used my cell phone for photos, which admittedly will never be high quality. Probably still not helpful, but attached is the frag under natural lighting. :)
