I don’t have a sump, only hob equipment. I recently relocated my heater to inside my hob filter and it’s working great temp wise but it is physically touching (under water) one of my media bags. Currently it is specifically a Chemi-Pure bag.

Is this a problem?

It’s a titanium heating element and is keeping the temp just fine, I was more worried about the media bag and stuff inside it than the heater

In the short term it should not affect anything if the heater is functioning properly. Over months it will speed up aging on the bag. Given that heaters all break eventually usually in the dumbest way, I would make an effort to fix this. As I said earlier it’s not ideal.
