Good morning everyone, So I purchased and installed a BRS titanium heater with a Helios controller. My question is how often do those using these clean the probe? I ask because this is the 3rd time I have gotten up in the morning to hear the controller beeping and giving the low temp code. So I then take the probe out, clean it off, and all is good. I obviously need to be doing this on a regular basis. SO, how often are you folks doing this? I am thinking a weekly wipe down might suffice.

You have to clean them? Been maybe 2 to 3 years since I installed 2 of them in the 1st chamber in my sump.

I have had to clean mine 3 times now. I honestly don't know. But I do know that when I wipe down just the probe, it goes back to working just fine. So is this a flaw in mine?

Maybe a flaw. I can only give you my experience.
It’s prob been a few years since I cleaned the temp probe in my overflow box also.
Maybe you just moving the probe fixes a loose wire or something. Not the cleaning . Just a guess

sounds like a very logical guess, for sure. Thank you.

I would contact customer service and see if they can send you a replacement probe. They have to be dirt cheap to manufacture
