Hi. I’m new to the forum and excited to join this great community. I’ll post more details in appropriate threads later, but here’s my story...
I currently have a 75 gallon, somewhat mixed reef. It’s a really nice setup with a custom built peninsula tank and all high quality gear. BUT... it’s overrun with every kind of algae imaginable. This has been going on for about three years now, and I’ve given up on this configuration. But I don’t want to give up on my finned friends and coral that have stuck through it.
So I’ve decided set up a smaller, simpler system that is easier to maintain in this stage of life (busy job, energetic 2 year old). At this point, I’m thinking of setting up a Reef Octupus Lux 60. Inhabitants will include my existing: clownfish pair, shrimp goby pair (with shrimp), Royal gramma, a few hardy gorgonians, open brain, rock anemone, sea cucumber, large starfish (I forget what he’s called).
