Welcome @James.gridley !! This is the place to learn. you will get directed in all kinds of directions.,. Filter everything and look for the experts. Research is the best way to succeed. And with this endeavor, take your time. But most of all.. Enjoy! Glad to have you here.

By the way, just a thought but you probably dont need to quarantine the snails and the shrimp.. the shrimp anyway.. Snails might have hitchhikers on the shells but doubt it. more likely to have some form of algae...

Awsome win. Hope you love this hobby and have the best of success. The mountain is steep sometimes but when you get to the top and look down it was more than worth the walk up. Welcome to the community.
Thanks for the reminder and encouragement, I look forward to the metaphorical hike!

That's actually a question I had! Shrimp is probably ok to dump straight into my tank after it's been rinsed since it can't be infected with Ich correct? Same with crabs and stuff?
In regard to snails, I was worried about hitch hikers, how can I make sure they don't have anything on or under their shells? Some type of dip, continued quarantine, ehh idk.
I need to read more on QT: I'm not 100% on what to look for or how long to keep these guys in here.

Snails may have something on the outside of the shell.. DONT DIP THEM.... maybe aiptasia or majano too small to really see till it grows.. The shrimp wont carry fish diseases as far as I know.
