Hi Everyone,
I am new to the hobby and just set up my first tank in August. I am still working on getting things figured out but it has been fun so far.
The tank is an Innovative Marine Nuvo Fusion 20 pro. I got it used but kind of wish now that I would have as I really didn't save that much money and there were some imperfections on the tank and stand. It also came with some things that really didn't work well or I don't use yet.
The tank was cycled with Turbo Start 900 and ammonium chloride. I added 2 tiny Ocellaris clownfish about two weeks later after my Ammonia and Nitrite were reading 0.
The lights were kept off with no other changes until the beginning of November when I added an AI Prime 16 HD light and added a small green star polyp.
A week later I added a Yellow Banded Coral Shrimp.
A few days ago I added a Tail Spot Blenny, Trochus Snail, and 2 Cerith Snails.
About a week after the lights came on I starting seeing some brown stuff on the sand and rocks. I assume this was Diatomes. These seemed to fade away after a few weeks. I am now having a lot of algae on the rocks and on the GSP. I got a turkey baster which seems to help some but there is still a lot there. Maybe I need to get some tweezers or something to pick it off. The GSP seems to be getting bigger but not very quickly. Maybe it does not like the algae.
