Welcome to R2R! Thank you for your service. I myself am doing the sober thing. Good for you on you accomplishments! This hobby has been exactly what I needed to help me stay sober. “To break a habit, you have to make a habit”.

Welcome brother. Fellow army vet here. I can for sure relate to some of your story. Here if you ever need anything. Just shoot me a dm. Know some organizations that go all through the south. Just hit me up.

Awesome thank you!
Ive actually got a battle buddy here I’m trying to help. He’s going through it right now trying to find some resources for him. Helped him to get benefits finally but not 100 percent. He spent a year in hospital from an explosion they wanted to amputate his foot but they put it back together kinda. He has major nerve damage and TBi and they give him the run around trying to get benifits.
Had to get a lawyer involved and waiting on another decision. It’s disgrace that a young man had his life destroyed and the government makes you jump through so many hoops.
He needs a place to stay that’s out in the country away from the city while he can get his life back together.

It is always a fight with the VA I’m still trying to get to 100. Went through ptsd therapy treatment and still trying to deny me on ptsd. It is sad that we all go through it.
So awesome you are there helping him out. There is an organization called Hope Outdoors. It’s a Christian ministry program that operates all through the south. They help a lot of people. I volunteered for a few hunts as a guide. They host hunts for disabled adults and kids. Raise money for people in need. Awesome awesome organization. Helped me give back when I couldn’t give to myself. Got me out in a healthy environment away from alcohol helping people.
Myself have been sober over two years. And have reached the point of no desire. I will be praying for yall.
