Hello everyone,
I'm from Poland but I live in UK from some time know.
I started my Red sea 425 - my first saltwater aquarium in July 2023.
from that time I go through many problems: ich - I lost half of my fish, alge problem and right now I'm fighting with SPS bleaching etc.
I set up this aquarium to relax a little bit after work etc but it looks like nature have a different plans
I've been reading your forum from some time know but Im still green.
Thats why I think that the best option will be to join the forum and ask what I need to do not to lose more corals.
Polips on my hammer are not that inflate like was 1 month ago, but I dont know if that is the problem with water or because new head is forming?
I also dont know why half of my zoa's is closed. I have a lot of vermetid snails - I dont know from where because I dip every coral, but I read that bumble bee snails can eat vermetid snails so I put 20 to my aquarium.
I also notice that sps corals loosing the colour after some time but I think that is because a little high nitrate and phospate.
My Parameters:
red sea pro salt: 34,8
Temp: 25.6
pH: 8.2
Nitrate: 24.9 slowly going down from 29
Phosphate: 0.113 going down from 0.34
Alkalinity: 10.3 this stay around that number through many moths (9.8-10.3)
Calcium: 473 go down from 520 which was high like this couple months
Magnesium: 1560 this go up from 1420 which was on that level many months
I dose:
red sea alkalinity 6ml in noon
red sea NOPOX 7.5ml at 9am
I also use rowaphos in small amount, 5-6 teaspoon
Aquarium with sump have around 360l of water.
Thank you for your help.
