Hey guys, so it has come to my attention that my lighting may need to be tweaked a bit, so I figured I'd come to you for help.

So I'm currently housing some SPS, LPS, softies and a bubbletip anemone in a 29 gallon biocube. I was told that my current lighting percentages may be too strong for my nem, and possibly that's why it's been trying to be in shadier places in my tank (still not quite sure if that's the issue, but I thought it may be best to tweak the light anyways). In addition, I've been having some algae issues as well, so maybe changing the light in some way may help that too (although I'm aware that lighting alone may not be the source of my algae problem. Just thought it may help).

My main goal in the tank is to have a mixed reef, but would like to be in a more SPS dominant tank in the future if possible.

I'll provide a picture of my current settings, and will be happy to answer any questions regarding my light.

I'm open to trying out any new recommendations you guys give me, so please do!

I think it might be. I have a 75 gallon tank. The lighting is alot lower than yours. I'm slowly ramping it up. I'll take a pic and post it next.

Thanks for the reply! I see that you have your UV and V lights a lot lower than I do. What percentage do you think my peak should be at so they're not at 119% and 116% anymore?

I origianal had every color except toysl blue in the teens for a few weeks. I slowly amp up all the colors to the 20s the royal blue I had in the 30's which the corals and btas didn't bother them at all. To where I have it now. And will continue to amp Up the lights gradually ssd's o every coral and nems gat used to it.

Alright, so maybe I'll try lowering my UV and V to about 20% then like how you have them over the course of several weeks.

In your tank, how's your anemone doing with your lights? And your corals too?

Actually there doing good. Slow growth but that's part to my lights and my ph. I just added a co2 scrubber to get ph up. It was a high of 7.8 at its peak and low as 7.6 at night. Even with cheato. Witn the co2 scrubber I'm hitting a high of 8.0 and low of 7.9 at night. I'm starting to see growth now with the corals.

Oh that's good to hear :)

I'll definitely lower the UV and V then just as you said. Thanks for your input!
