They have been together in this tank for over 6 months. a few days ago I started to notice some fights, but today it's super intense. Is this fight level still considered normal or do I need to remove one of them?

The female has developed hierarchy and you will experience her trying to prevent the smaller male from eating, hanging out in a certain area and chasing it to a given corner
You may have to isolate her 2-4 weeks. You can try a mirror also which she’ll turn her focus to the new imaginary female clown
