So I just noticed today what looks like small fish roe and realized that my clowns laid eggs. The “female” I’ve had the longest of all my fish probably 5-6yrs and the “male” is close second around 4yrs. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this/ noticed it in my tank before. I have no ambitions to start breeding clowns however, I do think it would be neat to try to have some of them succeed and pass on to other reefers in my area.
I need the 30,000 foot view on raising clowns from eggs and being successful. This needs to be a 101 type of instruction or a “how to raise clowns for dummies.” What do I need to do with the eggs? I realize I will need to move them at some point for them to be successful otherwise they will just become an appetizer for the other fish in my tank. What essential gear do I need to be successful? Thanks in advance.
Here are some pictures from today, not sure when they laid the eggs.
