My heater broke 8 days ago (didn't shatter, just didn't turn off) and I didn't discover the issue until the tank hit 98°. Lost a couple of fish
but almost everyone seemed ok. Did a slow decrease of temp, 20% water change and everyone seems happy except for my toadstool leather. It's been slowly getting more and more bent over. I tried increasing the flow, but that's not helping.
Two questions
1. Is it dead or is it just really really unhappy? It seems to have visible, but unextended polyps. There is one small tear in its flesh.
2. If it's not dead, what should I do to get it happier? I hesitate to move it because that would stress it more, but I could set it up in a smaller hospital tank. I just think a face plant into the sand isn't the best.
Tank is mostly FOWLR, with the toadstool, a gorgonian (who is SO MUCH happier after the spike, and another unidentified leather). 78°, 34% salinity, Calc 400 ppm, PH7.8
