Hi,
My Duncan coral was stung by Goni last week and the specific spot has retracted and lost the neon green coat.

I've done seachem reef dip , which worked wonders the cynarina that also got stung, that had now recovered.

It looks like the grey branch on the duncan has "spread" to the neighbour (right) which has now lost half the green coat and retracted today.

Should I cut the affected area to stop it from spreading? I've read that Duncan coralsa are hardy and can recover from being stung, is this true?
Thanks 👍 😊

Tough call. Cutting it off shouldn't hurt the coral. Once the polyps are gone and the skeleton is showing with no flesh, there is no chance of polyps growing back. But, you could be stressing the coral out more by pulling it out. Duncans can heal from being stung. But, if you are worried, you can remove the piece you are concerned about.

Thank you, Can it "spread" to the next branch like the pic?
If so, I'd rather cut it out before it cause all others to die off.

Looks to be more tissue recession than a sting. Assure phosphates are not becoming elevated allow to remain as this coral can be forgiving
