Duncan coral is stressed, it showed the same symptoms as my other stressed duncan coral, who just passed to bjd.

Owned 2 duncan’s for months, very big and beautiful. But recently both starts to sort of close and keep stubby tentacles around it.

I got a bubble tip anemone and to prevent death from wandering anemone I moved some high risk corals to a frag rack to stay safe while it moves, after a few days on the rack, still stubby and not fully opening like before, one of the duncan’s goes full bjd. 3 days of treatment later and it is no longer with us :( (was my first duncan I bought too)

Other duncan is following the same path and I don’t want to get rid of my beloved duncan’s :(

First pic is of the two duncan’s when i moved them to the rack. second is the one that is still with us.

That duncan dying was absolutely brutal that was one of the first corals I bought and took care of :(, horrible it died the way it did.

In addition to parameters, can you give info on your lighting and flow? Does it have enough flow that the polyps sway back and forth?

We need parameters. Has anything been added into the tank recently?
Will provide params as soon as I can.

I have added 2 frogspawn recently, but the only thing I can think of that would actually harm it is the decorator arrow crab I own, but I haven’t observed any sort of picking behavior at any corals except at zoas. Pretty confident this is some sort of flow issue perhaps?

Running viparspectra 165w, can’t give you a par but I run 10 whites with 60 blues. Not sure I gave it a lighting shock because it’s about the same height.

My flow is mainly from the return nozzle and a wave maker. wave maker is a new addition, but it could be a flow shock as the area it’s in gets more flow than it was before. But in my experience both of these duncan’s actually like high flow and did poorly when flow was cut…
