Hello, I'm new to the forum. I am getting back into the hobby now that we have our probably forever home. We are wanting a aquarium on both sides of the fireplace ontop of the dog kennels. Plumbing will be ran behind the fireplace and I will have my sump and everything hidden back there. The fireplace is electric and I can just pull it out easily to access everything.

I am having issues finding the right tanks. It would have to be 30in to 32in long and around 20in wide and 20ish inches tall. Width and hight can vary a bit but length not so much. Any ideas?

I'm trying to avoid shelling out the money for a custom size tank. I found a top fin bow front that could work it's 30.7x15.7x22.2. The width of that one would make it even with the rock face on the fireplace but I'm thinking I would want a wider one that come out more to the front of the kennels. And also I'm not to sure if I would want a bow front.

Thanks for any advice

A standard 29 gallon should work. 30" x 12" x 18" I think. The 12" width can be challenging to aquascape but if you can live with the narrow width, it's an economical choice that offers a lot of a lot of room for animals in that small of a tank.

I decided to just bite the bullet. I'm ordering $1088 of 3/4 cast acrylic pre cut to make two 30x20x27 tanks. I figure if I'm going to do it i should probably just do it right the first time. It's going to be a focal point of the living area so I want it to be nice and I know if I buy a cheap 29gal tank from petsmart I'm going to regret it
