Hello I currently have a fluval light running in my 55 gallon cube 24x24. I have softies, lips and sps. I clearly need a better light as only my mushrooms grow, the lps stay alive but don’t grow and my sps don’t do well. After checking parameters I talking to other reefers I know most think it’s the **** fluval light.

What’s better for my set up a AI 16HD one or a Nicrew Gen 1. Both are coming from Facebook marketplace

How many watts is the nicrew? Me personally I would put a 200 watt on that tank. AI Prime is only 55 watts.

Seems to be 100 watts
Does it come with a controller?
Little things determine the value.
Current new 100w gen 2 w controller can be as low as $ $240-ish.

As to the AI prime they have a tendency to burn lenses. Cheap replacement but...you need to replace it yourself to be economical.
And is the mount included.

Of course the usual "these are not new" stuff applies.

There is plenty of guidance here regarding species and wattages.

Huh 3 lights ( 2 working) for $125.
Didn't mention the controller.
New gen 2 controller does work 2 the old lights but no " mixing" gen 1 and 2 lights
$50 add on maybe.

Also no mention of the power supplies.
Devil is in the details .
Then thesis age and how hard they ran them.

Ai's probably not strong enough for your needs.
