Ok so I found some neglected fishies and bought them. now they are in QT tank. What should I treat the regal angel for? He has a really tattered tail idk what caused it. The swallowtail has popeye. I've been treating it with popeye medicine. My question is what do I treat for a tattered tail ??? some kind of fungal/bacterial disease???

Fin Rot I have successfully treated with MelaFix Marine... That just looks like an agression issue. It could heal on it's own, but if it is red at all the MelaFix will help.

Pop eye I have followed the procedures online using Epsom Salts and MelaFix. It takes time but after using this method working for me after trying other methods and failing, I am convinced.

You may want to treat them in individual tanks as if you happen to lose one, it could spike the ammonia levels and kill the other one.

I would also dose the water with vitamin C very important soak their foods in a multi vitamin and also try putting a antibiotic in the food for the fish that has popeye usually popeye is a internal infection and the eye is the least resistant area so when internal pressure builds up it sometimes pops the eye out but all the advice given was just outstanding and I would like to give you props for doing the right thing and trying to save the fish my hats off to you!!!

For the Regal, I would suggest going to the supermarket and picking up some clams for it. That has always worked well for me get them to eat.

Regal's can be difficult, especially when stressed. Hope the live brine shrimp works for you. If you have access to live blackworms, give them a try as well. They sometimes will go for clams on the half shell. They eat sponge in the wild. A piece of live rock with pineapple sponge growing on it might entice the Regal. And it wouldn't hurt to smear some gel food on the rock as well.

I have some clams! I will try it right away as He hasnt eaten brines and a few other things. I see small white patches on his fins should I be worried as well? I switched over to hydroplex as I was afraid it might be bacterial as well. man these medicines are pretty expensive lol
