Last few days this white fuzzy growth is developing in the light shade underneath the rock overhangs. Basically on non algea covered spaces.
Anybody can tell em what this is ?

definitely something like a fungus, the only time I’ve seen something like is is when there has been a food pellet stuck some where and it’s slowly rotting. That can’t be the cause here though because it’s on the underneath of the rocks. How long has the tank been running? Could it be some organics in the rock structure itself that are decomposing?

The tank is running for about 7 months.
Flow is good in those areas.
Values are all within limits.
I’ll try to blow it away kind of hard to get there because th3 tank is 28” deep

Except for where the yellow feather duster is, scrub white fungus with toothbrush dipped in perixide.

Yellow feather duster... Looks like a purple tang's tail.

I've dealt with bacteria bloom, but not a fungus. Bacteria is usually easier to manage.

Maybe give us a list of livestock. There might be some microbacter7 suggestions.

Also an older thread, much older. Looks to be the same issue you have

Wow, lots to read. Not all successful but I'll try.

I did have apriod of high phosphate because of a change in fish food from hakiri mysis only to self made very rich food.
I use Phosbond in a canister to get it down. Its in a "acceptable range" but still high. Working on it. Can't feed less and less....
The stuff definitely grows in the light shadows only. All my filters are kept clean (Rollermat, one sock filter, skimmer)
I'll do all the cleaning suggestions next. and see what will happen. I reluctant to throw in chemicals if its not 100% clear what I'm treating.

Yes, I didn't use chems for mine. But I had to do a full substrate change and.clean all my plants and driftwood in peroxide. But thats freshwater for you.

There are things like bacter7 and pns that are not chemicals, but beneficial bacteria. There's a lot of r2r's using them. And many with mind blowing tanks
