I have an Acan in a relatively new tank w/ algae. I would like to remove it and gently clean the skeleton (I think) to remove algae and possibly other stuff. Can anyone help me identify the three white-ish features? Are 1 and/or 2 new skeleton from the small heads developing underneath? Or are these vermatid? Can anyone help me identify the small white stringy stuff (3)?

Does it make sense to try to clean the frag up? Or just leave it alone?

Not 100% sure on what it is but I have seen it one some of my corals and it hasn't affected it at all from what I can see. I still see it on mine but I dont really worry about it anymore.

not too sure but you should be able to just scrape it off or it should come off with a dip

I'd leave it alone and enjoy the diversity and interest it adds to your tank.
