Hi there,

LFS has these, and I'm being told it's a skunk grouper. A quick Google search seems to say otherwise, and I was looking for help IDing it. I believe it's some sort of soap fish, but I'm having no luck in my searches online. I'm looking at the one with the white stripe.

Any help is appreciated! Sorry they aren't the greatest pictures.

Whitespotted soapfish, or rypticus maculatus. Max out at just under 8 inches. Somewhat reclusive, but a cool oddball!
