Help! Im making ambitious choices with novice knowledge

Hi! I've recently started my first ever salt tank. I've boldly chosen to keep seahorses for my first time.. my dad had a pair in a cube for 4ish years when I was a kid I was obcessed with them, and he currently has 300gal community tank. He's helped me prepare the new tank so the water is perfect, and the flow is right. I purchased some snails, tiny hermits, and shrimp yesterday, but as a die hard plant girly.. I'm looking for the best grass/algea to grow for the future sea horses. I'm also wondering if there are other general salt water plants that just have a nice esthetic and would look pretty in the tank. I know next to nothing about my set up, which is fine because my dad knows the specifics and he's very meticulous about maintenance so if you have suggestions that require more information I can aquire that! Thank you for helping me curate the tiny ocean of my dreams

How Deep?
How Long?

What are your Calcium and Magnesium Levels?

Its a 45gal diamond shaped corner tank, and there is roughly 4- 5ish inches of sand on the bottom (I was planning on space for roots to grow). I will report back with measurement specifics when I hear from my dad. The salinity was at 21 when we checked it yesterday, I'll get get calcium & magnesium info too.

Welcome to R2R! Macro algae are a good choice for a sea horse tank. I haven't done macros in a long time but hopefully someone will pop in and give you the name of a few good places to acquire macro algae. There are also a few macro algae tanks in the members tanks section. Also @fishguy242 has some sea horses in one of his tanks. He may pop by to say welcome.
