Help! Invasive Zoas over taking tank

So I have a 54 bowlfront tank, everything is growing in quite nicely but at the top I have this invasive ugly brown/purple zoathid and it’s rapidly growing and over taking all the nicer zoas I have, my question is what would be the best way to remove them and not contaminate the water or stress out other corals.

Any chance of pulling the rock out and doing surgery on them?

I’m gonna remove the polyps that are in good condition and that aren’t invasive and then dry out the rock then re add it to the tank once the invasive polyps die.
