Hello all

I have just joined the forum. Previously I had a 135 litre Fluval M90 tank which came as a full kit : pump, skimmer, lights etc. Made the usual beginner mistakes but really enjoyed it. Moving home forced me to sell the tank, but now I would like to build a new one for fish and coral.

So far I am thinking about using the triton method with the following kit:

Tank - Red Sea Reefer 350
Lights - Aqua Illumination Hydra 26
Powerheads - 2 x Vortech MP40

I like the tank to be immaculate at all time, so am thinking of using an algae reactor rather than a fuge.

Could you please let me know what you think about the above kit, suggest alternatives and also ideas for:

Skimmer
Algae Reactor
Pump

Possibly a UV sterliser too. I know opinions differ on how useful they are. Keen on the idea opr reducing the chance of ich though.

Retro Reefer

Slow and steady wins the race!

Welcome to the forum! I’m personally not a fan of Triton method but your equipment choices look good, be sure to start a build thread in the members tanks section of the forum when you get your tank.
