Help me decide on a light upgrade

I want to upgrade my lights on my 25 lagoon. I’m between the new hydra edge 44 and a g6 xr15. I like the hydra because it’s slimmer, cheaper and it has an advertised wider spread at 30 inches compared to the 24 for the xr15. My tank is all lps and softies so I’m not concerned with crazy par.

Can anyone throw in some input from having either first hand? Any drawbacks? Can only get so much from the YouTube reviews.

Yeah I know there’s better lights for cheaper out there but my whole tank runs off mobius and it’s just easy to keep it that way. Plus I really like the interface

Is there a specific reason you are wanting to upgrade? You say you want everything in mobius so that really only leaves the radions. My main concern with lights through mobius is the time resetting bug that they never appear to address.

Nothing major. There loud, they melt lenses, they put off different colors.

Ai lights run through mobius. I had that happen to one of mine. Super simple fix that has sense never came back

It’s your money, but I would personally just save up for something else, or buy coral and stuff

Yeah I run my primes on mobius

Yes very easy fix in that you just resync the clock but it’s annoying and could possibly expose your tank to too much light if they turn on in the middle of the night. That’s where I normally see the complaints. I only use mobius for pumps so it’s not as big of an issue for me.

Why not the Aliexpress radion clone? It’s cheap and has excellent reviews.

The BEST light would be a ATI Sunpower.

do you clean them regularly? i’ve had multiple primes and hydras which only got loud after not cleaning the fans
never had issues with melted lenses though
despite running semi high UV

I had radions, they are not worth the asking price. Radions and mobius is awful. Lights turning on at 3am. Awful glare. They feel cheap in that crap plastic housing. No thank you.

Not worth the convenience of using a single app for a sub par light.

You shouldn’t need to constantly fuss with your lights settings anyways. Unless ofc they are on at 3am randomly

the more i see Orphek lights the more and more i want them, my bank however would not agree with that purchase
