Hi all.
New to this site and I need some help IDing a piece of coral I picked up. I forgot the name of this when I bought it. I had bought a couple of other things at the store and frankly forgot when I got home... Any help is appreciated...

Oh and it can pack a nasty punch if other corals touch it!

I compared some images on google
Turbinaria Peltata Vs hydnophora microconos
It does appear its a Turbinaria Peltata.
Thanks for the info, I had no clue on where to even start.

Great glad you found it! They can be tricky sometimes! :)

I was looking at this picture and that's what got me thinking.

Looking closer at your pic I can now see the difference.

Blast it with a turkey baster, to get it to retract it's polyps and then take a photo. The polyps are hiding the structure, which will help determine what it is.
