It's white, came on a Halloween hermit crab shell. Kind of looks like a flatworm but not really. Should I take it out of the tank? The shell is no longer inhabited, so I could easily just throw it away.

Looks like a limpet. Do you have SPS corals? Some have a reputation for damaging SPS (I don't know if this is true and can't tell the difference regardless). I think most people happily count them among their CUC, but others remove them.

Yeah, a Hoof Snail (taxonomic family Hipponicidae) would be my first thought with the shape of the shell here.

I need to get around to figuring out a proper way to differentiate these beside their feeding methods, but if it's not a hoof snail, then it may be a Slipper Snail (family Calyptraeidae) or possibly even a Foam/Honeycomb Oyster (family Gryphaeidae) though this one is much less likely - any are harmless:
Yeah, looks like either a Slipper Limpet (genus Crepidula) or a Hoof Snail (taxonomic family Hipponicidae) - both are harmless; slipper snails are filter feeders, and hoof snails feed by extending a long proboscis (think like an elephant's trunk) to eat either their host snail's waste or any food it can reach from its host's back.
