Help me Identify This

In the photo you will see a Scarlet Carb. Just to the left is a fuzzy white Pod. Just noticed it yesterday. The tank is about 5 moths old. It was not there when the live rock when it. I also have copepods or amphipods on the glass. any ideas on what this is? Should I remove it?

Its a sponge. I've heard people call them Q-tip sponge.

There filter feeders (helps clean the water) so aren't bad. However, when I see them on my corals I manually remove them.

they are a scypha sponge and are fine to have. one way or another ull get them in your tank, most of the time they are in dark places like ur some or HOB filter ect. if you do have a HOB filter u might want to remove them cuz the can clog it up at times.

Your correct, it is in a dark place. It can only be seen with a flashlight.
