Help,my wife is complaining about the noise from my overflow

You really need a second drain if possible. I've lived with 1 drain for 10 years, but only because I'd need major changes to the display and plumbing from the first floor to my basement. I may as well just buy a new tank. The 2nd drain can be smaller, anything you can fit an overflow into will likely work.

100% of my return flows through a 3/4" bean animal from my frag tank to sump, which is dead silent compared to the 2"loud Durso in my living area.

How many drain pipes are in the box? You should be able to raise the water level inside the box with a pipe on the drain bulkhead and a valve on the primary drain.
I would agree. I'm not an expert on this type but the weir water level looks low. I'd install a gate valve and adjust it to get the water level up. that should quiet it down some, but your always going to get some noise. You could also try a piece of plexiglass over the weir. that would also dampen the sound.
