Hi there. I have a pretty young tank, only a couple months old at this point.

I added some Nassarius snails to eat leftover food. This past week they have all stopped eating and some have disappeared. I saw only one siphon the other day. I use them also to churn up my sandbed.

At first I thought it was dinos, but all of my other snails are fine. The ceriths are in the sandbed along with a few margurites and are doing fine.

Normally when I feed, they all go nuts for food. I try to make sure they’re well fed. Has this happened to anyone? I have one blue legged hermit who is a near infant. I doubt he could kill all of them.

Do they rise up after feeding??

I will not see mine for awhile sometimes ,,,I had not seen them for months actually and recently I added a piece of shrimp from the grocery store as a treat for the fish and half a dozen came out, I had assumed they were dead or at least some of them. But nope I guess just finding plenty to eat most of the time.

That makes me feel better.

Hopefully they're just in a funk and will return. I bought two more today and they came out to eat when I just fed. One seemed to be having a seizure though, like it was trying to right itself despite not needing to.

I bought some of the small tiny dwarf ones at my LFS early on. I think I bought 6 of them. I only see 3-4 of them when I feel. One of them is really tiny, smaller than any I added. I assume that they are breeding??? Or at least one made it since he's new and really small.

I was told that they will not reproduce in tanks. But it seems to vary.

I’m a little paranoid now that I actually have dinos. I need to find a safe way to dose silicates.
