Don't lose heart just yet; especially if it's still active and looks okay. Like others mentioned, and my guess as well, probably hungry and in shock- ocean life verse tank life. Good suggestion to keep the glass dirty, maybe the back panel, or which ever you choose. If it gravitates to it, you know its hungry. If your open, try asking her how you can help. People can talk to plants and animals, nature is nature and your part of it, learn to listen with an open heart (not ears) and you may be amazed, good luck :)

Keep an eye on it so you can remove if it's not showing signs of recovering so you don't have an ammonia or nitrite spike from decomposition.

I had a chocolate chip star for problem 5 years at least then all of a sudden it looked like that and died :( I really hope yours make but yes they are very hard to keep.
