help please

I bought a used 90 gallon fish tank and I think the previous owner put a return but idk what the other part does please help

Hi @Devonb29 and welcome to R2R!
So the big line with the U shape bend at the top is your drain line, it's what your water will flow down into your sump through. And then other line your return pump gets plumbed into to return the saltwater to the tank :)

Welcome to R2R!!! The description above explains your plumbing. The water will flow through the weir (the black finger things) and fill up the chamber with the pipes up to the the level of about mid way up the "U". The "U" drains the water from below the water surface in order to limit the noise. In order to raise or lower the water level slightly you can increase or decrease the return pump flow. For more increase or decrease in the water level then you can replace the long PVC pipe on the drain side for one that is longer or short (presumably the previous owner had this at a correct level and you shouldn't have to adjust it).
