It looks a little bit like Mesenterial filaments, did he have a neighbor recently? Could also be flow related or shade related.

Not sure on how much. It is getting good flow and been there 2 weeks by the stylo that has great polyup extention showing flow. Would trying to move it help. It is not infront of any powerheads or outlets and we turned flow and lights down for acclimation when we added them.

I would move it and see how it reacts

Only a couple monti caps and not too close. I can try to move for flow but had turned that down 2 weeks ago for the acclimation. What can I do there then reduce flow.

If it's been happy there a while I wouldn't move it too far, maybe turn the plug 180 degrees and see how it responds. Do you have anything in there that would irritate it fish or invert wise?

Mesenterial filaments from a neighbor is a good thought, as suggested by @Copingwithpods

Another possibility is (depending on your lights) some bleaching by Red LED “disco ball” effect, as suggested by @Dana Riddle ’s MACNA talk a few years back.

Whether it is flow, light, or a pesky neighbor... moving the frag should solve the problem

I haven't seen anyone attacking but have a kole tang that is cleaning the rack plugs. Just added more clean up crew yesterday due to not having hardly any but tangs have been loving cleaning everything. Maybe he crapped on it?

I have all T5s at the moment. and raised them up high to acclimate. Haven't lowered yet.

Then I’m back to an irritating algae or neighboring coral as the prime suspect

Ok, I moved it and will hope whatever it was is fixed.

Were there any neighbor corals that could have stung it ?

Also verify salinity, alk, ca and current PH

Stylophora on on side a couple inches away and the other side was a green polyp toadstool couple inches. Last check 2 days ago been staying at salinity 1.026, pH 8.1, ALk 7.7, Cal 450 and mag 1380. Phos is holding at 0.07 with gfo and carbon. And nitrates are showing 0 but do have hair algae and starting see some cyano starting so pretty sure the are some nitrates. Working on trying to fix those.

Sometime detritus settle on it and bleach that area out because no light.
