You got it today? Give it time. Never hurts to do a full test of water parameters just in case.
 
Agreed. Once they're disturbed they can stay closed down for a few days or more. If it last more than a week or starts to look shiny, it probably triggered it to shed. If it did, blast it good with a turkey baster and you'll see what looks like super thin cellophane flaking off. Once it's off they open up in a day or two.
 
Leathers are notorious for closing up when moved or stressed and not opening for a while. No need for concern if your tank parameters are in check!
