Hello Randy
I am currently trying to startup with Alkalinity in my tank. I have KHG which auto corrects Alk in the tank. It directs to use Sodium Bicarbonate mix 65 Grams to 1 litre for the accuracy of its Alk accuracy.
For now I have BRS Soda Ash powder. I am unable to get the concentration to the above KHG instructions.
Also my tank is not so high on PH so this solution suits the tank parameters. I cannot formulate the accuracy to the solution. I would be grateful if you could guide me with something for me to solve it.
Sorry for being off topic from this thread but I don’t know much how to get an answer.
Thanks

Normally using the soda ash powder, mix at half strength you normally would baking soda.

So if it calls for 65 grams of baking soda to 1 liter of water, mix 32.5grams of soda ash in 1 liter of water.

Randys diy recipie outlines 2.25cups/gal of baking soda
Or 1.12cups of soda ash/gal

I did solved it.
41 g of BRS Soda Ash when mixed in 1 Litre RODI water would increase 2.6 DKH

1ml Alkalinity Solution mixed with 41g/ltr
1 Litre Saltwater mix (Coral Pro Tropic Marine)
Salifert KH Test Ki
Original Alkalinity 7.7

after mixing 1ml of Alk Solution

Alkalinity 10.3

Thats a raise of 2.6 DKH.
