Hi all,

I've had this Scoly since Dec 2025, it came with a hole through and through, though many LFS had advised it wont survived, thr scoly responds to target feeding of Mysis.

I read in this forum that this could've caused by too strong flow? This scoly is at the bottom right of the tank, slightly elevated on a pedestal, the goni next to it proves the flow isn’t excessive.

What else could cause this?
All advice welcome 🙏 thank you.

The super very localized receding to me speaks of a localized cause (as opposed to something global - like water quality). I would try move it to a lower-flow location and see how it responds, maybe that area in front has a little water jet stream that is causing issues. One way or another, I'd keep a close eye on it and see if you can gather any more clues. Do you have any corallivorous fish or shrimp?

Thank you !

All fishes in the tank are reef safe. I have not seen any fish nipping on the scoly or other corals.
No shrimps in my tank.

I will move it to lower flow area and observe. 😊
