Hello everyone, new guy here. I decided to get a 6x2x2 180 for my first tank. It has been up and running for almost 4 months now. Currently battling GHA.

Equipment is - trigger 39 sump
ro regal 200int skimmer
icecap 4k gyre and 2 ro octo pulse 2 on a hydros controller
jebao 6500 return pump
3 noo-psyche k7 pro
various hydros contollers

Stocking so far is - 2 ice mocha clowns
3 pj cardinals
1 orange spotted blenny
1 yellow banded possum wrasse
1 firefish
misc cuc

Going forward i would like to add 7 wrasses and 3 tangs

wrasses would be - exquisite fairy
fine spotted fairy
splendid pintail fairy
carpenter flasher
linespot flasher
mc cosker flasher
royal flasher

tangs would be - white tail
yellow
hippo

I have read the wrasseguys article on mixing and i think these are the least aggressive and the look good as well. So far I do not have corals but plan to add some. At first just zoas and euphyllia, i think. Would this be an acceptable stocking? If so would adding the wrasses all at once be ok? Thanks for any help.

First post & first tank. Outstanding.

I will not comment on your fish as I am not a fish person. I will comment on your coral comment

first just zoas and euphyllia,

I suggest you go with more forgiving soft corals.

wrasses all at once be ok?
They are fairly small fish and should be ok.

If your nitrification bacteria are sufficient, I suggest the same method for the Tangs.

Honestly this is a nice stocklist. Id do the additions in batches depending on the size of your quarantine. If possible to do all 3 tangs together, then:

Batch 1: all 4 flasher wrasses
Batch 2: the 2 fairy wrasses
Batch 3: the 3 tangs.

I wouldn't hesitate to add a few less aggressive Chrysiptera or less aggressive Pomacentrus damsels, some gobies, and other odds and ends (mandarins, tilefish, leopard wrasses, and pencil wrasses) once the tank matures a bit. I do tend to stock my tanks heavier than most people though.

Prob yellow tang last if it's bigger than the white tail. If there are issues, a mirror should resolve since they aren't the same genus.

I have 8 tangs in my 260 added in 3 batches roughly. Keeping them same size and plenty of swim room and hiding places helps a ton.

My concern is the wrasses. Ime, fairy wrasses do not play well with each other and they bully flasher wrasse. Be careful. My orange shoulder did not play nice in my 250 with other fairy and flasher wrasse. He was added last and he killed two other fairy wrasses. He doesn't bother my leopard, melerenus, yellow coris and mystery wrasses. My prior tank a 180, had a blue throat that killed other fairy wrasses. So dont put your guard down when it comes to their aggression
