Doubt it's a bacteria bloom from what you described.

However if it is and you have the means, Add extra Aeration to avoid a oxygen depletion.
Any way you can. Air Stone. Surface aggitation, etc.

And of course little extra Carbon alway helps clear up things.

I've had exactly that happen when snails spawned. For a moment I was panicked, but it's actually a sign of a healthy tank. Look around and see if you see one of them snails "smoking." They all go off at once. It's a snail orgy. I think the corals love it, btw.

Thanks guys it’s starting to clear a bit now - corals and nems starting to come back out a bit. Added an air stone for extra oxygen and added another bag of carbon for safe measure.

Couldn’t see any of the snails “smoking” but wouldn’t rule it out just would be so surprised if they could make it that cloudy!

Great News. Things are getting better.
Now you can Have a Drink, while they smoke :)

Or join in to support my different BIGGER 5 Alarm RED ALERT emergency that started last night.
(been at it 24 hours. No drinking for this one)

Nope only dosing alk and cal
What should I be testing
I have an ammonia alert badge from when I first set it up a couple months ago and it’s reading 0 as usuall
Apex is saying PH 8.35 and temp at 25.1 Celsius
I am testing alk now but it was 154 ppm two when I did the water change

I was trying to see what would be feeding the bacteria if it is a bloom

So just an update - happened again today and caught my extra large trochus snail splurging in the tank so mystery solved. I can’t believe it’s able to cloudy up a 1000litre system, must have a lot of spunk!

I would also mention that I think I was the first to suggest this. I only say that because what do i have to do to become a "valuable member" or whatever?
