This algae has slowly been taking over my tank during the previous month. It's a 200 gal with bio pellet Rx, GFO, Carbon, Refuig. Phophates testing at 0.05ppm and Nitrate at 8 ppm. TDS on RO water is 0ppm. Nothing recenlty died. Any ideas appreciated

agree. green hair algae.
snails and other cleaner crew type make sort order of that.
If you don't have macro or turf algaes (hopefully in a refugium) then it will be a continuing battle. Macro and turf algae will starve the hair algae of nutrients.

theres a neat alt way to see this tank
not having to wait for all that to be gone, and the cuc you add might prevent the return. this way is nice because that algae exists only because its in there and hasn't been disallowed, cheatingly killed etc.
one of the biggest changes that will come this decade will be the revelation that algae issues are not always tied to any nutrient problems. the real reefs have been showing us that for a while now, grazers are the reason there's no takeover, not suboptimal phosphate conditions. the real reefs have in places what would test for us as pristine, ideal water--and they'll go chocked a bloc as soon as grazers die off in whatever cycle is taking place.

or have it cleaned in about 7 days is my prediction for a total improvement after shot of about 90%. i make lots of algae tank predictions

I used to have a big problem with Hair algea. I added a two little fishies brand media reactor, with All in one bio pellets. Which removes the nitrates and phosphates that the algea requires to grow and spread. Then I added a large CUC that specialises in algea eating... WIth in two weeks, it is all gone and has not been back. Good luck in your endeavors with the problem algea... if you would like i will link the equipment I bought off of amazon for you to look at.
The OP is already running Bio-Pellets & GFO.

Estimate we've collected over 200 after pics of tanks just like this one, kill time is about 7 days with 90% initial biomass loss. The little niches left comprise the rest of the spot treatment work, and is the price to pay for allowing biomass to exist.
Increase phosphate sequestration, begin to bleach corals predictable as clockwork. Kill the target or risk tank
