Hello all,
Can anyone help figure out what’s happening to my hammer coral? The lower head seems to be melting a bit. On the opposite side it looks a bit “inflated” at the base (if that makes sense). It’s really not close enough to any aggressive neighboring corals (or any corals really), so I don’t suspect it’s “warfare”. Alk and Calcium are stable at 9dkh and ~420ppm respectively. Magnesium dropped a bit (around 1100ppm) but I have since dosed to increase it a bit. Nitrates are less than 10ppm and phosphates are barely above 0ppm. All other corals in the tank look healthy (leathers, several other lps, and one sps). I’m also running carbon in the sump to mitigate potential toxins from fragging a couple leathers recently. Any help would be greatly apprciated.

almost looks likes the heads are melting towards the bottom (from what I can see in the images) I've heard this can happen when mag gets too low

for hammers you should shoot for 1400-1500 ppm
