What can I give it I have methynane blue and nitrofurazone and kanaplex.Looks like a bacterial infection. Qt and run antibiotics
Kanaplex and metroplex with furan2 would be best in this case seeing as you already have kanaplex. NFG would be best as it covers darn near everythingWhat can I give it I have methynane blue and nitrofurazone and kanaplex.
Are these reef safe?Kanaplex and metroplex with furan2 would be best in this case seeing as you already have kanaplex. NFG would be best as it covers darn near everything
No. They all should be used in a quarantine tank.Are these reef safe?
What can I do if I don’t have one?No. They all should be used in a quarantine tank.
Just to be clear, do you have Furan2 or NFG (aka nitrofuracine powder)What can I give it I have methynane blue and nitrofurazone and kanaplex.
No I have nitrofurazoneJust to be clear, do you have Furan2 or NFG (aka nitrofuracine powder)
Furan2 is a commonly packaged product that contains just nitrofurazone;No I have nitrofurazone
So do I dose the tank right away?Furan2 is a commonly packaged product that contains just nitrofurazone;
NFG contains nitrofurazone + small amount of methylene blue + salt
NFG works great on those types of red areas your tang is displaying. And it works the fastest on those infections.
Furan2 + Kanaplex will work well on both gram positive and gram negative infections.
Time is often of the essence here. Those "red areas" once they show are not good. Rapid treatment is advised.
What can I do if I don’t have a spare tank?Never treat in your main tank. You need to set up a hospital tank to treat in.
Not much you can do. There isnt really a reef safe antibacterial as it'll also target the good bacteria in your tank and live rock as well potentially causing ammonia spikes and deaths. I would run to your LFS and pick up at minimum a 20 gallon long kit (the ones that come with power filters heater, and cheap lights) a bottle of bacteria (bio spira preferably) and fill it with fresh saltwater and move the tang over to treat.What can I do if I don’t have a spare tank?

For this reason I keep a 40 breeder in my basement ready to go for either quarantine of new fish or if the occasion should unfortunately arise treatment of current fish.
You bet, and good luck!Ok thank you
Some one told me a nutrient deficiency is that true?You bet, and good luck!
Here's an excellent posting by @Humblefish on bacterial infections. Scroll down to the 3rd pic or so where you can see some pictures of a Yellow Tang with bacterial infection. Hope this helps a bit.Some one told me a nutrient deficiency is that true?
