I am setting up QT tank for a new 65g DT setup. Its time to put some thought into order of the fish that goes to the QT.

I'm new to reefing (not new to fish) so this new 65G will likely have some easy corals in the near future. Here is my wish list for fish :

2x green chromis (existing, will transfer to the new tank)
1x neon dottyback (existing, will transfer to the new tank)
1x yellow eye kole tang
1x flame angel
5x azure damsel OR yellow-tail damsel

From what I read, both azure and yellowtail is more on the mellow side as far as damsel goes. Since the dottyback can be aggressive, he is okay so far, i think going with a semi-aggressive tank may fit better.

I assume the kole tang, being bigger, should be fine in a semi aggressive tank?

What should be the order to introduce the fish?

My QT tank is only 13G. So will can only QT a few fish at a time. My current tank (15G) will be tear down eventually, but not in a hurry. The chromis and dottyback can stay there for a few months if needed.

I'm thinking the following order

1. Green Chromis
2. Kole Tang
3. Flame Angel
4. Azure/Yellowtail
5. Dottyback

Thanks

For filtration, this is an AIO tank with 4x filter socks mechanical filter. I'll have Tunze 9004DC skimmer, along with some Seachem Matrix in the rear compartment. About 50lb of marco rock (currently cycling in a tub).

Looking back to your reefing roots: Did you start with Instant Ocean salt?
