Need to keep po4 from fluctuating to much.
I think your numbers are spot on. No need to drop anything.

How much are you dosing daily?
To much of a good thing can be bad. I would stop dosing daily and do 1 or 2 times weekly and see if it turns around, IMO.

I use LaCl3 (elimiphos rapid) to keep PO4 at bay as GFO is too expensive. I dose 6.5 ml daily into the filter sock using a neptune DOS. Chaeto doesnt do much for PO4…. I have nonother way of keeping PO4 at bay.

I dose 12 ml of each bottle daily as per manufacturer instructions… i really don’t have a way to know if this is enough or not….

———-

I am also dosing 5,500 ml of kalwasser daily but still my pH is very low… 7.9-8.0 now…. About 1 month ago it used to be 8.2-8.3 with the SAME amount of kalwasser…..

Mine goes to 7.9 almost every night. 100% kalk by evaporation. No worries.
Could be the probe is old and/or needs replacement/calibration.

Exactly….. 😔

The Apex probe is performing accurately, as I verify it every 21 days against my highly precise Milwaukee MW102 pH and temperature probe. I store the MW102 in storage solution at all times and check its accuracy monthly using calibration packets, so I’m confident that my pH readings are reliable.

If the kalkwasser isn’t having any noticeable effect, would it make more sense to discontinue its use and return to All For Reef? That would simplify dosing, as it provides all the essential elements in one solution.

Additionally, I’ve resumed dosing Reef Nutrition AB+ (Red Sea) and Coral Amino (Brightwell), which I had previously paused during a hydrogen peroxide treatment intended to control/eliminate ich and velvet. The H2O2 method proved to be very effective, but I suspended all other dosing during that period to avoid any potential adverse interactions.

Do you change water at all??? I’d only dose the A&K once a week at best.. every day seems a little excessive.
I changed water evry 6-8 weeks (33%) but now, since this is happening i am changing 10% evry 7 days…. All other corals seem fine…

In terms of the A and K… i went as per manufacturers instructions for my 180 gal tank that read:

“Add 1 ml trace elements of each solution per 100 l / 25 US-Gal. (7.2ml) of aquarium system water volume daily. The trace elements solution must not get directly onto the animals. The demand for trace elements increases with increased aquarium population density. In heavily populated aquariums, dosage may be increased up to the maximum dosage below. Maximum dosage: Do not exceed a dosage of 2 ml per 100 l / 25 gallons (12 ml) of aquarium system water volume per day.”

So you are right…. I might be doing too much… I will drop dosing to 7ml (instead of the 12 ml) but how do i knwo if daily is ok…. Or not? Manufacturer says daily…. 😔 all other corals seem fine … i wouldnt want to risk others…

With water changes I started dosing at 25% the minimum dose and ramped up to 1/2 the dose. My thought: my coral was doing fine without dosing and doing water changes. I'm just giving them a little more. It's it enough? Know idea, but they now have more than without dosing.
I do not do ICP testing, at all.

Edit: posting a Pic to follow @Troylee lol.
150 display, also pretty packed.

I have a 300 packed with sps and large colonies and I only dose 10ml of each once a week! Every time you feed your fish or change water you’re adding trace elements to the tank. I see no reason to dose it daily honestly.

Those shrooms are cool looking, I mean you know your whole tank is awesome, but those just caught my eye this time :)

How often do you water change? (I am thinking along the lines of “aater changes repelnish trace elements too”)
