Hi, I recently took over a tank with live rocks, and found out that there are serious algae problems with them. All rocks were kept in trash can with flow and heater. I was thinking of starting the cycling process with those established rock (there are some invertebrates and coral on them and still alive). Is anyone be able to identify the algae? Will it be better to cure those rocks and start from beginning (potentially kill all inverts and corals on them) or should I cycle with them and fight with algae problem later

Its hair algae. If you plan on cycling the rock in the container, add some liquid bacteria such as Micro bacter XLM and 2ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons with no lights and it should dissolve and die off
