I've had my Alkatronic for almost two years. A few weeks ago I replaced all of the inner tubing and re- calibrated the pumps. I also replaced the pH probe, reset probe calibration and calibrated it. This is the second time I have changed the pH probe. No issues the first time around.

This time I'm getting an error. The instructions say for such error to go to the app and " turn off Baseline calibration" and it will fix the problem.

I tap the slider to disable baseline calibration. After I tap save, the Alkatronic confirms it and displays such.
I tap start test, and it says Incorrect Calibration then shows dkh=0.00 dkh Low - 1st.

I go back to setting and I notice when I go the disable baseline calibration is grey again aka is not slid to the on position (orange in color) anymore. I slide that back to disable baseline calibration and save.
It displays on the screen again. I tap start test. Again, Incorrect Calibration pops up then changes to Code 01 Check pH probe.

I have tried swapping to another brand new pH probe and calibrated it as well in case the probe is the issue. Still having the same problems. After the second attempt and it reads Code 01 Check pH probe I have to re-start the machine to do anything. May be worth noting the probe does read pH on the screen when I click test pH probe calibration.

I'm not really sure what to do here and I'm getting super frustrated. I emailed support at Focustronic over a week ago and have heard nothing back.

Can anyone help me out here?

code01 means 2 values or more are false low, and if its not the electrode it may be the pH card. Focustroniuc will come back and first thing they will probably reset the pH card (can do easy). If pH card then for sure works but still issue, it can be worth recondition the electrode (FT has a pdf, but you can also do by follow whatever electrode instructions, like soak in Hcl 20 min, then 2 hours in Kcl). Maybe send Ft a new ticket, to be sure it's received, they normally answer within 24h.

I was getting calibration incorrect when I was calibrating the pumps out of the order…. This was fixed when I calibrated pump C than pump A and than pH probe….

I’m curious where you got the tubes for changing?! I had to specially order from the OEM tube company and cut and put em together.

Hey thanks for the reply! I did reach out to Focustronic. They've been less than helpful. It's taking them forever to respond. We've had a couple back and fourths. You're right, they did have me check the pH probe "test pH electrode". It did work. They emailed me back and said the good news is the pH card isn't broken because of that test . But that's all they said! They didn't offer anything further. I emailed them back right away and asked what further to do but that was days ago. Crickets. I'm getting frustrated because I recently started adding PNS to my system and my Alk consumption increased and I didn't realized it (although I should have and should have tested with my Hanna over the past two weeks with my Alkatronic not working) it was an over sight on my part, I should have know better to test my Alk! But I tested last night and it was 6.9! It's killing me not having my Alkatronic and I am setting up my new system in a couple weeks and NEED my Alkatronic to ensure stability.

You said about reconditioning the probe. I tried two different probes and both of them were brand new. Do you still think they should be reconditioned? I saw someone else responded about the order that you calibrate the pumps and the probe . I'm going to try that today and see if it works.

Hey thanks!. I'll give that a try today! I'm desperate to get this thing working. I started dosing pns bacteria about a month ago and though I should have known better because I have been reefing for a very long time it was a total oversight on my part that I didn't continue testing since my machine has been down with my Hanna Checker. I finally tested last night for the first time in about 3 weeks and my alkalinity was 6.9 🤢 yikes! Terrible timing to lose my Alkatronic because I'm setting up/upgrading my system in a couple weeks and I NEED my Alkatronic working! Hopefully the test orientation works for me. Customer support hasn't really been much help . They are taking forever to respond back and forth . They did tell me that the pH card is okay because the one thing they did ask me to do was the pH probe calibration and it did read ph. But they didn't say anything past that.

The tubing I actually found on Amazon. I found the OD and ID diameters from a guy who had posted on here a while back. I can give you the links if you'd like. I bought several feet of them so it will last quite some time and was a heck of a lot cheaper than buying the actual replacement tubes. I refuse to pay $50 for a couple inches of silicone tubing. That's just ridiculous!

Eric Tang will do anything to avoid dealing with the garbage Focustronic is producing. Crapotronic is my worst purchase in the last 10 years. This includes all that PPE going into the pandemic. Eric, you should be ashamed.
